AIKIDO FOR
KIDS @
HVA!! Huron Valley Aikikai is pleased to offer a children's class for kids ages 5-10. Classes run Saturday afternoons from 12:15 to 1:00 PM. A set of 10 classes will run from April 7 to June 30. Please contact the dojo for more information on class times as there will be occasional breaks in the schedule. Our children's class features an engaging combination of exercises, games, and Aikido techniques with the goal of helping kids to develop their minds and bodies in a fun and structured setting. Parents are welcome to join their children on the mat as well at no charge. The principal instructor for the children's class is HVA member Adam Sorkin. Adam began studying aikido in 1995 and earned the rank of sandan ("third degree black belt") while training at Aikikai Hombu (World Headquarters) Dojo in Tokyo, Japan. The fee for the winter/spring classes is $135, which includes both instruction and a gi (uniform). As children continue to participate in the sessions and grow out of their gis, you are free to exchange your uniform for a larger one as needed, free of charge. To encourage a group spirit and a feeling of cooperation among the participants, we ask that all children enroll as close to the beginning of the course as possible. As the program grows, we may consider offering the class on a more continuous basis with a monthly fee structure. If you are interested please let us know by filling out the short form below and Adam will contact you. Pre-payment for the course can be made using the PayPal secure payment button below (PayPal or major credit card). WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!
