Huron Valley Aikikai is pleased to present occasional Visiting Teachers Clinics featuring guest instructors whom our members and others from nearby dojos may not get a chance to see on a regular basis. The clinics will typically be held for 3. 5 hours on Saturday afternoons and focus on a theme or approach decided upon by our guests.
We hope participants will find these sessions to be an engaging, manageable, and affordable way to delve a bit deeper into their training outside the context of our typically longer weekend seminars. All levels welcome!

Sorkin Sensei began training aikido in 1996 under Ikuhiro Kubota Shihan in Nara, Japan, and then at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo until his return to the U.S. in 2009. Since that time, he has trained largely at Birankai dojos, Huron Valley Aikikai principal among these. Sorkin Sensei, who spent extensive time as joju (live-in student) at the Ichikukai Dojo outside Tokyo practicing misogi-no-kokyo ho and Zen, also leads meditation and misogi breathwork at his dojo, practices that he views as foundational to his development both personally and as a martial artist. He is the Chief Instructor of Northwest Aikido, in the suburbs of Chicago.
